Privacy Policy
Effective 16 October 2026
In short: the only personal details this website asks for are the ones you type into “Book a walkthrough”. We use them to arrange your walkthrough and follow up about Emerge, never sell them, and delete them within 12 months of our last contact. The website uses no cookies or trackers. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your details at any time by writing to admin@tryemerge.in.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website, tryemerge.in (the “website”). It covers what you share when you book a walkthrough, when you email us, and the technical information any website receives when you visit it.
It does not cover the Emerge product that schools use. Data a school puts into Emerge is handled under the agreement we sign with that school, which will set out how that data is protected.
2. Who we are
Emerge is school software being built by a team based in India that also works under the name Harbour AI. Emerge is not yet a registered company. Until it is incorporated, the founding team runs this website and is responsible for the personal data collected through it. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), that makes us the “Data Fiduciary”, and you, the person the data is about, the “Data Principal”.
When Emerge is incorporated, the new company will take over this responsibility. We will update this policy to name it and tell the people whose data we then hold.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at admin@tryemerge.in.
3. What we collect
When you book a walkthrough, the form asks for:
- your name
- your role (a principal or owner, a teacher, an investor, a parent, or someone else)
- your school or organisation (optional)
- an email address or phone number we can reach you on
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.
When you visit, the servers that deliver the website automatically receive the technical details every web request carries: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page asked for, and the date and time. These are used only to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix faults, and are kept in short-lived server logs.
What we do not do. This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising trackers, stores nothing in your browser, and does not build a profile of you. We never ask for sensitive information such as financial, health or identity documents, or passwords. Please do not send us anyone else’s personal data, or any information about students.
4. How we use it, and on what basis
We use your details only to:
- contact you to arrange the walkthrough you asked for, and prepare a demo that suits your school
- answer your questions, and follow up with you about Emerge after the walkthrough (you can ask us to stop at any time)
- keep the website working and secure
- meet our obligations under law
We process these details because you gave them to us for this purpose and consented to that use when you submitted the form. We will not use them for any other purpose, sell them, or use them for advertising. If we ever wanted to use them differently, we would ask you first.
6. Where it is stored
Our data is stored with reputable hosting providers, whose servers may be in India or in other countries. Where data is processed outside India, we do so only as the DPDP Act allows, and never in a country the Government of India has restricted.
7. How long we keep it
We keep walkthrough details for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, and then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner, your school goes on to use Emerge (when the agreement with your school applies), or the law requires us to keep them longer.
Server logs are kept only for as long as needed for security and fault-finding, and as the law requires, and are then deleted.
8. How we protect it
The website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, the booking details are stored in a database that only the members of our team who need them can reach, and our providers are held to reasonable security standards. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your personal data, we would tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal data of yours we hold, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with
- correct, complete or update it
- erase it
- withdraw your consent, which is as easy as giving it: one email is enough. We then stop using your details and delete them, though what we did before you withdrew stays lawful
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to
To use any of these rights, email admin@tryemerge.in from the address you gave us, or tell us how to confirm it is you. We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and aim to complete it within 30 days.
10. Questions and complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, write to our privacy and grievance contact at admin@tryemerge.in. We will acknowledge it within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act provides.
11. Children
This website is meant for adults: school leaders, teachers, parents, partners and investors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us at admin@tryemerge.in and we will delete them.
12. Other websites
The website links to other services, such as our Instagram page. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Emerge grows, for example when the company is incorporated. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how we use details you have already given us, we will tell you before it applies.
